# Archived Tasks

**Archived tasks** are tasks that are **no longer active** but are **kept for reference, audit, or history** instead of being permanently deleted.

Think of them as **read-only tasks** that are hidden from day-to-day work but still exist in the system.

You can archive any **open task** when it is no longer needed. Archived tasks are removed from active task lists but kept for reference.

At any time, you can **restore an archived task**, bringing it back to the active task list just like before
